[REFAT] Field visit to the SONEDE water pumping station at Chott El Fejij, Gabes.

On June 25th 2021,  the Executive Director of MEDREC, along with the project management members of REFAT and ICAPT projects, and the Energy Management Director of SONEDE, organized a field visit to the water pumping station of SONEDE located in Chott El Fejij, Gabes. 

The purpose of the visit was to supervise the progress of the landscaping construction process preceding the installation of a 512kW photovoltaic power plant for pumping drinking water, in the framework of REFAT project.

The team was welcomed on site by SATER SOLAR SA, the head of the Tunisian-Italian consortium which started the landscaping process of the plant on April 1st 2021.

The field tour included:

  • A visit to the technical/control building, inside which will be installed the electronic devices needed for the photovoltaic plant ;
  • An observation of the cooling process of the geothermal water pumped to the station;
  • A Filming of testimony and guided tour videos for the project partners and beneficiaries’.
