Either as coordinator of cooperation projects or as executing agency mandated by regional organizations, MEDREC was acclaimed by different stakeholders and funding agencies for its efficient project management.
The center’s commitment to excellence is reflected through extensive quality project management procedures, including:
- Dynamic and efficient execution of project activities;
- Rigorous and transparent financial and administrative procedures;
- Effective risk mitigation strategies;
- Innovative tools offering security and facility in the monitoring of administrative and financial management.
Thanks to a task force of dedicated experts, MEDREC has been coordinating efforts to design innovative cooperation projects then successfully securing their funding mainly through European programs such as ENI-CBC-MED, Italie-Tunisie and H2020. MEDREC has also been assisting key public and private regional actors for the design of projects and programs supporting the implementation of national and regional sustainable development and energy transition strategies.
MEDREC can provide its academic and socioeconomic Mediterranean partners with assistance in:
- Identification and analysis of call for proposals and other funding opportunities;
- Networking, consortium creation and coordination;
- Administrative and financial documents preparation;
- Technical project proposal elaboration;
- Budget definition.
In collaboration with its academic and socioeconomic partners, MEDREC has been designing and implementing different training, capacity building, B2B meetings and dissemination activities for:
- Energy efficiency in buildings;
- Renewable Energy technologies implementation in different sectors;
- Climate change adaptation for agriculture;
- Sustainable management of water management;
- Green entrepreneurship.
The challenges that the Mediterranean region is facing for the implementation of sustainable development, energy transition and climate change adaptation/mitigation strategies require innovative approaches as well as scientific and technological innovations. Therefore, research institutions therefore have a particularly important role to play in this regard.
With a team of former researchers, a scientific committee formed by renown academics and a large network of academic partners, MEDREC aims to be a clearinghouse for increasing research valorization activities in the Mediterranean region by:
- Designing different activities and projects bringing together research institutions and socioeconomic actors;
- Ensuring technological watch for the identification of most promising and suitable technologies;
- Gathering, preparing and distributing information and data useful to research institutions as well as public and private actors;
- Organizing scientific dissemination events.
MEDREC has been providing various national and regional key actors in the field of sustainable development with expertise and consultancy services such as:
- Carrying out feasibility and strategic studies enabling the implementation of several facilities in the Mediterranean region;
- Providing technical assistance to projects and institutions;
- Contributing in the elaboration of national and regional guidelines, roadmaps and strategic plans based on learnt lessons, success cases and initiatives, best practices and experiences;
- Organizing relevant thematic events and workshops while involving key actors as well as decision makers at national and regional levels.
